【外国人ヘルパーと日本語カルタ】ルルルの日常にふと現れた“国際語学バトル”！

最近ルルルにヘルパーとして滞在している、カナダ出身のマイケルとチリ出身のファビアン。
掃除も料理もばっちりこなす、頼れる2人です。

そんな彼らと、「日本語かるた」で日本語の練習をしました！
宿泊できてた子供達と「日本語カルタ」で対決

このカルタ、実は異国カフェで彼らが紹介してくれた自国の文化を元に作ったオリジナル。
「オンセ（チリの夕方のお茶時間）」「さむがりなカナダ人」「チップ文化」など、笑えるけどちゃんと学べる内容がいっぱい。

ルールはシンプル。
日本語の読み札を聞いて、絵札を素早く取るだけ。

でもマイケルとファビアンは日本語初心者。
絵は分かっても、言葉が聞き取れない！大苦戦！

そんな中、ファビアンが「左上のひらがながヒントでは？」と気づき始め、だんだんと良い勝負に。

マイケルはというと……ルール無視で全札を占領（笑）
でも本人は本気そのもの！見てるこっちは大爆笑でした。

子どもたちはさすがの強さで冷静に対応し、勝負は子どもチームの圧勝！

でも、ゲームの後がまた面白い。
カルタの裏に書かれている日本語の意味や使い方をみんなで一緒に勉強。

「“びみょう”ってどういう意味？」「“プルプル”ってどんな時使うの？」
自然と語学レッスンの時間に。

こういう何気ない日常の中で、言葉や文化をシェアできるのがルルルの魅力のひとつ。

[Karuta and Language Fun] A Casual Day at LuLuLu with International Helpers

Hi, this is Joe, a staff member at LuLuLu – Kochi’s first share house & guesthouse!

Michael from Canada and Fabian from Chile are two amazing helpers staying with us right now.
They're great at cleaning, cooking, and always full of good energy.

One afternoon, we ended up playing a Japanese karuta game with some kids staying at LuLuLu!

This wasn’t your usual karuta — we actually made these cards based on Michael and Fabian’s country presentations during Ikoku Café.
Topics like “Once (Chilean tea time),” “Canadians feeling cold,” and “tipping culture” made for some fun and funny cards.

The game is simple: listen to the Japanese phrase and grab the matching card.
But for beginners like Michael and Fabian, it wasn’t so easy…

Fabian soon figured out the hiragana in the corner was the key, and started catching up.
Michael, on the other hand… went wild and tried to grab every card 😂

The kids were calm and fast — and totally won!

After the match, we all looked at the backs of the cards and talked about the vocabulary.
“What does bimyo mean?” “When do you use puru puru?”

It became an awesome little language lesson.

These moments aren’t special events — they’re just everyday life at LuLuLu.
