Today I’ll be introducing you to the infamous Sunday market!

 

 

Kochi’s Sunday market is not just any regular weekend market. This Open air market stretches
for over 1,3km! It features over 430 stalls, and has been around for more than 300 years!
The stalls sell various different products, so let’s take a look at what they have to offer!
Firstly lots of local fruit and vegetables are a staple for this market

 

 

Some stalls even specialize in foods such as mushrooms

 

 

Other stalls sell freshly caught local fish!

 

 

Kochi is also famous for its superb forging of knives and similar equipment, so lot’s of stalls sell
that as well!

 

 

The market also features a bunch of street food stalls, preparing various local cuisines on the
spot! This shop specializes in yakitori.

 

 

And another famous shop specializes in fried sweet potatoes. I tried it, and it was delicious!

 

 

So make sure to check out the infamous Sunday market if you find yourself in Kochi on a
Sunday.
The market is open each Sunday from 5am till 6pm, it starts at the Kochi castle and runs
straight down the road towards the center of the city, here you can see it on a map.

高知の日曜市はただの週末市ではありません。この青空市場は
1,3km以上も続く！430以上の露店が並び、300年以上の歴史があります！
屋台では様々な商品が売られている！
まず、地元の野菜や果物がたくさんある。

キノコの専門店もある。

また、地元で獲れた新鮮な魚を売る屋台もある！

高知は包丁の鍛造でも有名です。
屋台も多い！

屋台もたくさんあって、その場でいろいろな郷土料理を作っている。
焼き鳥の専門店。

そしてもう一つの有名なお店はサツマイモのフライの専門店。私も食べてみましたが、おいしかったです！

日曜市は毎週日曜日、朝5時から夕方6時まで開かれている。
高知城から始まり、高知市の中心部に向かってまっすぐ伸びている。
