Through this blog series, I wish to inform you about all of the fantastic experiences
Kochi has to offer! Its rich culture, nature, and history combines to create all sorts of
unique and exciting activities to participate in throughout Kochi City.

Today I will be introducing you to the exquisite Hirome Market!

 

Hirome Market, which is located right next to Kochi Castle,

is a food court of over 60 food stalls and eateries! There is no entrance fee,

which makes this the perfect place to experience all of the delicious food Kochi has to offer.

As seen on the image below, both locals and tourists alike, enjoy its great variety of food stalls everyday.

 

Amongst the many foods and dishes Hirome Market has to offer,

the most popular and recommended is without a doubt “Katsuo no tataki”. 

This seared bonito is considered by many to be Kochis signature dish,

if you visit Hirome Market, make sure to give it a try! As seen on the image below,

some shops even serve it in a pretty little boat.

 

But if fish isn’t your thing, don’t worry! Hirome Market offers all kinds of foods,

amongst the many food stalls you may also find tempura, gyoza, fried chicken, and even ice cream!

 

 

The great thing about Hirome Market, is that it truly is the perfect place to bring along your friends or family,

and enjoy the foods you each prefer. Or instead to go and find some new friends amongst the many commune tables

where locals as well as visitors enjoy the exquisite food together!

 

So the next time you are visiting Kochi, please feel free to enjoy the wonders of Hirome Market! 

 

Some useful information about Hirome Market:

• Credit cards are not accepted at most food stalls, so make sure to bring cash.
• It is open from 10am - 11pm, except Sunday where it opens 9am instead. It is open almost all days of the year!
• In the image you can see how to get there from LuLuLu, for 200yen you can take the tram from “Asahimachi 1-Chome” to “Ohashidori”, alternatively it is only about a 30 minute walk if you prefer to do it Ohenro style.

今日ご紹介するのは、「ひろめ市場」！

 

高知城のすぐ隣にある「ひろめ市場」、

60以上の屋台や食堂が並ぶフードコートだ！入場料は無料、

高知の美味しいものを体験するのに最適な場所です。

下の画像のように、地元の人も観光客も、毎日バラエティに富んだ屋台を楽しんでいる。

 

 

ひろめ市場にはたくさんの食べ物や料理がある、

一番人気でおすすめなのは、間違いなく「カツオのたたき」だ。

カツオのタタキは、高知を代表する料理として多くの人に愛されている、

ひろめ市場を訪れたら、ぜひ試してみてほしい！下の画像のように、

お店によっては、かわいい小舟で出してくれるところもある。

 

でも、お魚が苦手な方もご安心を！ひろめ市場にはいろんな食べ物があります、

たくさんの屋台の中には、天ぷら、餃子、フライドチキン、アイスクリームまである！

 

 

ひろめ市場のいいところは、友達や家族と一緒に来て、それぞれの好みの食べ物を楽しめるところ、

それぞれの好みの食べ物を楽しむことができる。また、地元の人たちや観光客で賑わうコミューンのテーブルで、新しい友達を見つけるのもいい。

地元の人だけでなく、観光客も一緒に絶品料理を楽しんでいる！

 

次回高知を訪れる際には、ぜひひろめ市場の素晴らしさを堪能してほしい！

ほとんどの屋台ではクレジットカードが使えないので、現金を持参すること。
営業時間は午前10時～午後11時（日曜日は午前9時から）。年中無休！
画像はルルルからの行き方です。200円で「旭町1丁目」から「大橋通」まで路面電車に乗ることができます。
