🌎 南米チリを語る！今回のゲストはファビアン

毎週開催しているLuLuLu名物「異国カフェ」。
今回のゲストは、チリ出身のファビアン！
母国チリの文化や暮らしについて、たっぷりと語ってくれました。

⛰ アタカマ砂漠とアンデス山脈の国

チリには世界一乾燥した「アタカマ砂漠」や、南北に連なる「アンデス山脈」があります。
「雨が15年〜50年に1度しか降らない場所もあるんだよ」とファビアン。
晴天率が高く、天体観測にもぴったりな国なんだそうです！

🍞 1日4食？チリの食文化にびっくり

チリでは「朝食・昼食・オンセ・夕食」の4回の食事が基本スタイル。
「オンセ（Once）」は午後6時頃にパンとお茶を楽しむ時間。
そのあと夜10時にしっかり夕食をとるという話に、日本人ゲストは驚きの表情！

🍖 毎週BBQでつながる家族と仲間

チリでは毎週末、BBQ（アサード）をする家庭が多いとのこと。
家族や友人とお肉を焼きながら語らうのがチリ流の過ごし方。
「ベジタリアンは時々呼ばれないこともある（笑）」という冗談も飛び出し、会場は大爆笑。

🌍 日本と似てる？地震と防災の話

チリも日本と同じく地震の多い国。
建物が揺れに耐えられるように柔らかく設計されているそうです。
2012年の地震体験談では、リアルなエピソードに皆が聞き入っていました。

🏡 世界が近くなる場所「異国カフェ」

LuLuLu本館の1Fカフェスペースで開催される異国カフェでは、
トークの後にゲストとの交流タイムもあり、世界がぐっと近く感じられます！

Explore Chilean Culture in Kochi! International Café with Fabian at LuLuLu

Hello! I'm Joe, a staff member here at LuLuLu—Kochi’s first share house and guesthouse.
Our weekly “International Café” event brings the world to our cozy corner of Japan.
This time, we welcomed Fabian from Chile!

⛰ From Deserts to Mountains: Chile’s Natural Wonders

Fabian introduced us to Chile’s amazing geography:
the Atacama Desert—the driest in the world—and the Andes Mountains that stretch across the country.
He explained how some areas go decades without rain, making them perfect for stargazing!

🍞 Four Meals a Day? Tell Me More!

In Chile, people usually eat four meals a day:
Breakfast, Lunch, “Once” (a light tea and bread break around 6 PM), and a full Dinner at 10 PM.
The idea of such a late dinner surprised many of our Japanese guests!

🍖 BBQ is a Way of Life

Weekend barbecues (Asado) are a staple of Chilean culture.
Friends and families gather to grill meats and spend time together.
Fabian joked that vegetarians sometimes get left out—bringing lots of laughs from the crowd.

🌍 Earthquake Safety: Chile and Japan in Common

Like Japan, Chile faces frequent earthquakes.
Fabian explained how buildings are designed to flex and sway safely.
He also shared his experience during the 2012 quake, adding a personal touch to the discussion.
